Establish Purpose
The College of Humanities and Applied Sciences adheres to the motto and educational purpose of the school. We promote humanities, mathematics, physics, and chemistry under the concept of equal emphasis on humanities and science, and the integration of theory and practice. We actively encourage academic research, participate in industry-academic collaborations, and provide community services.
College Goals
(1) Cultivate professionals in the humanities and applied sciences
To cultivate students with a disposition for humanistic care and a pragmatic approach to addressing real-world issues, and to instill virtues of respect, ethics, and a willingness to take on responsibilities, we integrate faculty with expertise in humanities and sciences. This foster learning activities and bridges the gap between the humanities and technology. Through reflective engagement in the humanities curriculum, we inspire students to be socially conscious, fostering the development of sound values and strengthening their proficiency in cultural content and technological skills. Additionally, through the Teacher Education Center, we nurture vocational and technical education faculty at the secondary level, promoting sustainable talent development.
(2) Cultivate students' multicultural outlook and lay a solid academic foundation
Cultivating individuals with a capacity for self-directed learning and a balanced proficiency in both theoretical knowledge and practical skills, we integrate foundational science with specialized technical expertise. This involves establishing a solid foundation for technology and nurturing robust research and development capabilities. Additionally, we promote interdisciplinary interaction and collaboration, facilitating the sharing of educational resources to enhance the effectiveness of teaching and research.
(3) Promote industry-university cooperation to enhance the practical ability of teachers and students in innovation and entrepreneurship
Aligning with industry trends, we actively pursue collaborations between academia and industry to create mutually beneficial outcomes. We vigorously seek research and development projects, ensuring the realization of service capabilities. By promoting industry-academia cooperation and enhancing practical proficiency, we proactively anticipate industry trends. We integrate teaching with industry practices, nurturing talent that aligns with industry demands, thereby facilitating industrial upgrading and expanding opportunities for student employment.
(4) Strengthening international academic exchanges to broaden the international perspectives of both teachers and students and enhance the research atmosphere
We aim to cultivate individuals with professional expertise, independent critical thinking skills, and a global perspective. We encourage each department to facilitate international academic exchanges, engage in faculty and student exchanges, establish collaborative agreements, and seek opportunities to host international academic conferences. Additionally, we actively pursue partnerships between our departments and renowned overseas institutions to further broaden our international outlook.
