Department Introduction
The graduate school was established in 2001. It integrates various fields such as literature, history, philosophy, and cultural creative applications rooted in sinology and utilizing digital technology as a tool. We emphasize practical and applied independent research approach. With sinology as the basic core, the graduate school is dedicated to the development of applied research in sinology, leveraging modern digital information technology in the process.
- Promoting the essence of Chinese studies
We aims to organically combine literary literacy, historical perspectives, philosophical principles, and modern life within traditional culture. It enhances students' abilities in practical applications of Chinese language, interview editing, cultural creativity, and digital humanities.
- Emphasizing a Balance Between Theory and Practice
Faculty members in our graduate school undertake collaborative projects with government agencies such as the Ministry of Science and Technology, the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Culture, and local governments, as well as private industries. These projects provide students with opportunities for work-study experiences. During their academic years, students can receive comprehensive training from theoretical knowledge to practical applications. Additionally, upon enrollment, students have the chances to participate in the Teacher Education Program. By earning credits through professional courses, students can be certified as secondary or primary school teachers.

We offers courses related to "International Chinese Studies" to train students in foreign language proficiency. Besides, through the biennial "International Chinese Studies Academic Conference," we organize academic exchange activities with experts and scholars from academic research units worldwide, providing opportunities for interaction with doctoral and master's students. This allows students to stay abreast of the latest trends and research methods in Chinese studies.
- Cultivating Talents for Cross-disciplinary Integration
Our curriculum is divided into three main modules: "Core Competencies," "Research Skills," and "Applied Skills." Students can choose courses based on their areas of interest. Core Competencies modules are compulsory, Research Skills modules are elective, and Applied Skills modules are also elective. Starting from the foundational core, accumulating research strength, and applying what they have learned, students are nurtured to possess interdisciplinary and cross-disciplinary capabilities.
